I am Nzaliseko “Nza” Maponye, a multidisciplinary artist from eNgcobo in the Eastern Cape, currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Working across sculpture, animation, and painting, my practice explores inner experience, identity, and the often-unspoken layers of the human condition. I see culture as a vehicle through which my ideas travel—ideas that do not merely move culture forward, but shape it in deeper, more meaningful ways. By focusing on how we learn, understand, and pass on ideas, my work seeks to influence the youth, nurturing awareness, critical thought, and the possibility of a better generation to come.
